Roopalia.com is published by Durva AI Private Limited. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version: you can read every article on this site without giving us anything at all. We only ask for a phone number if you want to use the Sakhi AI chat assistant. We do not sell your information to anybody.
1. Reading the site
You do not need an account to read our articles. When you visit, our analytics and advertising partners may record ordinary technical information — the pages you opened, roughly how long you stayed, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your IP address.
2. If you use Sakhi AI
- Phone number — used to log you in through an OTP. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase
- Your questions and the replies — stored so that your chat history is there when you return, and so we can find and fix bad answers
- Payment details — Sakhi AI is free at present. If a paid plan is offered in future, payment will be processed by our gateway partner. We never see or store your card or bank details
Your conversations with Sakhi AI are not sold and not shared with advertisers.
3. What we use it for
- To run the chat assistant and keep your history available to you
- To understand which articles readers find useful, so we know what to write next
- To keep the site working and to prevent abuse of the chat assistant
- To reply to you if you write to us
We do not use what you asked Sakhi AI to target advertisements at you.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising
This site uses cookies. Some are needed to keep you logged in; others belong to the services below.
- Google Analytics — tells us how many people read a page and how they arrived. It does not tell us who you are
- Google AdSense — third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on your previous visits to this and other websites
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. You may also block or delete cookies through your own browser settings at any time — the site will still work, but you may see less relevant advertising.
5. Push notifications
If you allow notifications in your browser, we may send you an occasional alert about a new article. These notifications are delivered through OneSignal, a third-party push service, which receives a browser identifier but not your name. You can withdraw that permission from your browser settings whenever you like.
6. Outbound links
Articles sometimes link to an outside source — a scripture reference, a study, a panchang. When you follow such a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies, not ours, and we receive nothing from your visit. Roopalia carries no affiliate or shopping links.
7. Keeping your data safe
We use Firebase Authentication, encrypted connections and standard server protections. No system on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute safety, but we do not keep more than we need.
8. Your rights
- Ask us what personal data we hold about you
- Clear your Sakhi AI chat history from your account
- Delete your account permanently, along with the data attached to it
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Opt out of personalised advertising, as described above
To exercise any of these, write to contact@roopalia.com. We will act on it within a reasonable time and will not ask you why.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, please write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the bottom.
